Jim Longworth, a dry, brilliant, yet hard to get along with ex-homicide detective from Chicago, relocates to the Florida Everglades after his Captain accuses him of sleeping with his wife -- and shoots him. The ensuing financial windfall allows Longworth, an avid golfer, to revaluate his priorities, electing to continue his lone wolf detective style within the lazy glades backdrop of south Florida. Lazy days soon give way to big city drama when a decapitated, dismembered, unidentifiable woman is found in a creek, begrudgingly dragging Longworth off the golf course in pursuit of her killer.
