Colonel Xavier Marks (Elias Koteas) manages the hospital and rides herd on the unruly doctors. Rounding out the team are Commander Will Royal the warm-hearted Chief of Nursing, Major Vanessa Pedersen (Deborah Kara Unger), the Danish Army Psychiatrist, Bashir "Vans" Al-Adeeb, a streetwise 17-year old interpreter and Captain Bobby Trang (Terry Chen), Rebecca's confidant who wishes he could be something more. The never-ending conflicts that arise from being in a military hospital under fire are immensely challenging, but Rebecca and her colleagues face each new highly-charged medical situation with dry humor, a powerful sense of compassion and the occasional ill-advised romantic entanglement.
